Wine: Tarara 2003 Merlot Reserve
Review: This is a rich wine, with chocolate and cherry aromas and a dark color. The tannins were still a little strong, but it is clearly smoothing out and it had spicy flavors that gave it a nice kick. It probably needs another year or so to fully settle, but it is very drinkable now.

Hi Allan,
I will be sure to try this next week when I visit Tarara. I have been there over 6 times or so and have not tasted at the Reserve bar in the rear. Last year during the concert series (6p-9p), I always arrived to late, and the tasting room was closed, and they were not featuring their Reserves outdoors.
My mother is coming here next week from GA for her birthday, and she wants to visit everything Loudoun has to offer so I will certainly give this Merlot a try.
