If you are a member of the Fabbioli Speakeasy Club, specifically a member of the "Fabbioli Dry Reds" club then you have a special treat in the latest shipment. Included with your wines is the new 2008 Tannat.
Doug has always used Tannat as a blending wine, but this is his first release as a standalone varietal and it should be a big hit. This wine has a big nose to it, I definitely picked up dark fruits and some vanilla on the nose, also a little bit of chocolate.
The wine has aged well in the barrel. It has a long lingering body, but 2 years in the barrel have smoothed out the tannins so they don't jump out at you. It has a lot of earthiness and some hints of leather that combine well with the fruit that hits the front of your mouth. This is the kind of wine your whole mouth will enjoy.
