Loudoun Wineries Make Wine & Chocolate Fundraiser a Huge Success!

I am always struck by the sense of community that most Virginia Winemakers share. Not only are they always willing to step up and lend each other a hand but they genuinely like and respect each other.

This sense of community bleeds over to Virginia wine bloggers, the Virginia Wine Diva at Swirl, Sip, Snark expressed this sense of community better than I ever could a few days ago.

All of this was on display yesterday during our first Wine & Chocolate Fundraiser to Fight MS. There are many people who made the event a success, but special shutouts need to go to several people:

First an foremost, Jason at Vinifera who donated space and the time of his staff to the event.

Merideth at MC2 Confections, her chocolate was a big hit and really complemented the wines!

Jordan at Tarara, Bree at Loudoun Valley, Doug at Fabbioli, Stephen & Shannon at Notaviva and Ben at 8 Chains North who volunteered their time and wine to the event. Jen at Breaux and Jim & Lori at Corcoran who could not attend but still donated wine to the silent auction.

Finally to my fellow Virginia Wine bloggers at Virginia Wine Time, Wine About Virginia, Swirl, Sip, Snark and Drink What You Like for supporting this event with your writing and attendance!

All of your efforts helped to raise more than $7000 to fight MS and support the National MS Society, Washington DC Metro Area. We could not have asked for a more successful event or more support from the community!

Thank you all!

Allan, congrats on a killer event! It was good seeing you and I think it's safe to say that everyone in attendance had a blast.

Thanks so much for highligting this event! As someone who is very close to the mission of the National MS Society, it is fantastic to see local businesses and community members coming together to support this important cause.

Thanks for having us involved Allan. It was a great group of people that seemed to have a great time. We had a blast pouring our wine there. Congrats on a great event.

Hi Allan, I was at the event on Sunday and we had a great time! I "won" the Redskins football in the silent auction, gave it to my husband for Valentine's Day, and he loved it! Do you know where the football came from or who donated it (I didn't get the sheet that described it). Of course, Pete's first question was "Where did it come from?" Thanks in advance for helping me track it down!
